The Natural Instinct Sunscreen SPF50+ range uses Zinc Oxide as the active UV blocker ingredient. Zinc Oxide is a physical blocker that reflects harmful UVA and UVB rays. Not only does it block both UVA and UVB rays – which are responsible for causing burns, skin damage, and skin cancer — but it's completely photostable and resistant to water.
Thanks to its soothing, anti-inflammatory properties; zinc oxide’s sun protection is powerful. Mineral or physical sunscreen works by deflecting UV rays away from the skin. It functions like a ‘mirror’ on your skin and is a naturally sourced mineral and is widely used in the sun protection industry. By being on the surface of the skin, there is less potential for irritation, so these tend to be the first choice for people with sensitive skin.
We recommend shaking the product well before every use. This product contains naturally derived ingredients and therefore requires shaking to ensure consistent protection. Zinc Oxide particles can on occasion form together in between use but when rubbed into the skin they should apply evenly.
Directions of use: Always read the label. Use only as directed.
Apply liberally and evenly onto dry skin 20 minutes prior to sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours and at regular intervals especially after swimming, exercise or towel drying. Always wear protective clothing including a hat and sunglasses. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
Use a generous amount of sunscreen. The average-sized adult should apply 1 teaspoon of sunscreen (5mL) per limb (arms, legs, front torso, back, face/neck including ears). That is 7 teaspoons (35mL) of sunscreen for one full body application. Don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours.
It is strongly recommended that for children, the primary means of sun protection should be hats, clothing, shade and avoiding the sun during the parts of the day when UV levels are at their highest. Sunscreen products such as Kids Sunscreen SPF 50+ 200ml and Rollerball are fragrance free and dermatologically tested to be suitable for sensitive skin.

SPF 50+ is 98% effective and only allows 2 percent of UV rays through in comparison to SPF 30 which allows 3 percent UV rays through to the skin, making it 97% effective.
